WINTER SPECIAL

In the fall of 2009, the women of Jackson State University’s Student Government Association saw an ongoing need to improve the morale of the incoming and current female student body. Many young ladies desired a mentor to guide them through their matriculation at JSU. These students had numerous questions regarding their major, financial aid, career development, internships, relationships, adjustment, and some just needed a support system while being away from home. EOLT was developed for this specific reason. Forums were to be held discuss these varied topics in great depth. Actively involved Junior/Senior female students received freshman mentees based on their discipline or hometown. Overall, EOLT’s purpose was and still is to help young ladies matriculate through the university successfully with the help of those who have walked in their shoes.  This is a minor yet major way to continuously “Challenge Minds and Change Lives” at Jackson State University
